Hi, I'm Emma
I am a horse-first trainer.
Something deep within me has always rebelled against the idea of "showing the horse who's boss." I would sit and watch the horses with one another. They were sometimes firm, but always fair. It inspired me. So I took that mentality of dominance and I set it down. Unsure of the path ahead, the only tools at my disposal were a rudimentary understanding of pressure and release and the deep belief the horse was vastly sensitive creature, I started my journey.
My method has come a long way since then. I have spent summers riding through the high country of the Sierra Nevada, countless hours in the round pen with wild mustangs, and seek instruction in every discipline I can. From hunter jumpers to reined cow horses to liberty horsemanship I've come to appreciate the sheer adaptability of our equine companions, and the nuance each discipline takes.
On this journey, I've found my passion is not in any one discipline, but in helping people connect to their horses in new ways; registered and grade, performance and companion alike.
